Q: What is Sports4Him?
A: Established in 2006, Sports4Him is a theologically conservative, biblically-based sports ministry created to provide good solid resources to the local church in its endeavor to reach athletes, coaches, and sports fans with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sports4Him recognizes that it is the mandate and responsibility of the local church to be the “pillar and support of truth” (I Timothy 3:15) and to “equip the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12-13). As such, Sports4Him is not interested in replacing the local church or even substituting for it. Instead, our desire is to empower, encourage, arm and support the local church with helpful resources, counsel and assistance.
Q: What do we believe at Sports4Him?
A: We believe in the inspiration, inerrancy, infallibility and sufficiency of the Bible and trust in it as our single source of authority for beliefs and practices.
We believe there is but one true and living God who is infinite, eternal and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, truth, and love existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe mankind was created in the image and likeness of God; as a result of Adam's sin all men inherited a sinful nature, became alienated from God and are unable, in and of themselves, to remedy their lost condition.
We believe salvation is a gift of God brought to the world by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe the universal church is a spiritual entity composed of all born-again persons of this age of which Christ is the head.
We believe in the virgin birth, the sinless life of Christ, the vicarious substitutionary atonement of Christ, the resurrection of Christ from the dead, a literal heaven and hell, and the eternal security of the believer.

1985, he went on to serve as Youth Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Roxana and began his high school coaching career as an assistant basketball coach at Roxana High School. While ministering and coaching in Roxana, he met his beautiful wife Kathy. Dave and Kathy were married on June 6, 1987 and now have three wonderful children (Matt 20, Amanda 17, and Allyson 10). Shortly after their marriage, personal tragedy hit their family and Dave and Kathy made the difficult decision to move back to Springfield to assist their family. The Lord immediately provided an excellent job for Dave in state government. What Dave thought would be a temporary, short-term position in state government turned into an eleven-year career in management. During his time in state government, he faithfully ministered in his local church as an Elder, Bible teacher and youth worker and had the additional privilege of serving as the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at two local high schools, Ursuline High School and Calvary Academy. In the fall of 1999, Dave and Kathy’s local church, Southern View Chapel, approached Dave about joining the pastoral staff. After seven-plus years of excellent ministry at SVC, and three exciting years at the Harvest Community Church in Maroa, the Lord provided the wonderful opportunity to pastor the Lebanon Valley Bible Church, where Pastor Dave and Kathy are joyfully serving with the desire of seeing this growing church reach out to the greater Lebanon/Hershey area with the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!
